Burmese general election, 1974

General elections were held in Burma between 27 January and 10 February 1974.〔 They were the first under the new constitution approved in a referendum the previous year. This had made the country a one-party state with the Burma Socialist Programme Party as the sole legal party.〔Nohlen, D, Grotz, F & Hartmann, C (2001) ''Elections in Asia: A data handbook, Volume I'', p614 ISBN 0-19-924958-X〕 It therefore won all 451 seats in the People's Assembly. Voter turnout was reported to be 94.6%.〔Nohlen, D, Grotz, F & Hartmann, C (2001) ''Elections in Asia: A data handbook, Volume I'', p603 ISBN 0-19-924958-X〕
